The roof is up!
We dropped by last Tuesday to check on progress and you can see that the second floor is really coming along. But this Saturday was crazy, the roof is up and they were putting in the stairs!
The builder is still aiming to be done end of December by doing more overtime on the weekend.
Now that this is all done I think we can expect the sidind, Hardy plank (cement panels) and maybe even the bricks this week, or at least get started.
After that point I think we are on to plumbing, electricity and all that kind of stuff. We will meet with the low voltage guy and tell them exactly where we want our wiring for speakers, cat5e and alarm system.
Come back next week for more updates and exciting pics!
Roof all done from the front.
The guys just put up the stairs when we got there and they said it was safe to take a peek upstairs.
Standard bedroom ceiling was flat, but we added the vaulted ceiling to get a more roomier feeling.

Second floor is almost done last Tuesday.
Framing
The house is really starting to take shape now! We got a major surprise driving over this weekend cause the main floor is all done and walls are coming along. This part of the build goes very fast our builder told us (it's not brick so I can imagine) and we will see a lot more done half way through the week and next weekend. We will receive more pictures from our builder wednesday.
On my flight back from San Jose I could see our new home!

San Jose
Friday I had to make a short trip to San Jose California. This is where Dawn and I met so it was fun seeing it again. Didn't have time to make any pictures though.
San Jose from above. It's a little misty.
Flying back home.
Plumbing and Concrete
Since I am running a bit behind on the updates I am adding pictures from 2 weeks in this post.
You can see the plumbing being put in the basement and then the concrete finished on top.
This was a slow process cause they have to wait for an inspector to check if everything is done according to city codes.
Plumbing in the basement
You can see they started to fill in the sand on the sides
Concrete in the basement. Divided into sections to make sure it doesn't crack.
Metal beams that fit in the concrete walls to support the first floor.

Trip to Ridle Gap!
We needed a little break so we decided to take a short (3 hour drive from Denver) trip to Rifle Gap and camp out for a day or 2. Since it was Labor Day (dag van de arbeid) here in the US we got an extra day off on Monday and we both took Friday on top of this.
